Porcelain pavers on Patios
Patio. Porch. Deck. Veranda. Call it what you will, and look to European Paver Company to transform this highly popular lounging space using zero-maintenance, incredibly easy to install exterior flooring free of chemical sealers and maintenance crews with power washers battling mold and mildew buildup. Slip and stain resistant porcelain pavers offer the style and functionality unmatched by concrete, brick or composite outdoor flooring.
Patios have a variety of substrates depending on their location, and the structural integrity, durability and high load capacity of exterior porcelain pavers make them usable in any setting.
A seating area in the garden typically has a substrate of grass or compacted gravel and sand, whereas patios attached to structures are often concrete. Versatile porcelain pavers can be set directly on grass or slightly countersunk in it by removing the top layer. They can be set on gravel beds, typically with a top layer of leveling sand. Polymeric sand to fill the grout lines.
Over concrete slabs the pavers can be mortared and grouted, or for a quick and simple alternative set on rubber pads designed specifically for supporting and aligning pavers.
Overlaying pavers on pads as a ‘floating’ floor is a simple, clean option often able to be completed much faster than using mortar on a bare concrete slab or demolishing and removing an existing slab to replace with pavers.
At just 3/4” thick, overlaying porcelain pavers on concrete or existing tiles often does not interfere with vertical restrictions such as door sills. Their large 24”-48” format allows for many square feet to be laid quickly and efficiently, and at just 9lbs sq ft installers much prefer porcelain over concrete or brick.
Seamlessly flow from indoors to the patio with exterior porcelain pavers matching interior porcelain tile. Integrate the feel and style of outdoor seating spaces by selecting the perfect style and color from European Paver Company’s extensive line of 200+ colors in interpretations like Bluestone, Wood, Marble, Terrazzo, Cement, Cobblestone and more.
Enjoy the simplicity of installing pavers on rubber pads where possible. This ‘floating’ floor method allows for electrical and plumbing lines to run underneath the slightly elevated pavers for lighting and irrigation at the time of installation or as a future addition. Changing your décor and need a different flooring color? Simply lift pavers off pads and replace with a different color. No drawn out demolition projects. No messy mortar and grout. And the "1/8” wide spacer tabs built into pads maintain a consistent gap between pavers for water to freely flow off the paver surface.
